Waitakere Ranges to Auckland, New Zealand

A good place to start is The Auckland City walk through the native trees with views of Cascade Falls. It runs alongside the Waitakere River stream from the nearby Cascades Park. It takes less than an hour wandering through quite slowly and reading all the signs. Numerous tracks link to those at the Cascades if a long walk is what you are looking for.  Select the photo below to learn some of the maori words relevant to this area.
